Swaffham Lions raise cash for Haiti
MORE than �1,100 was raised to help victims of the Haiti earthquake at a cheese and wine evening organised by Swaffham and District Lions.
MORE than �1,100 was raised to help victims of the Haiti earthquake at a cheese and wine evening organised by Swaffham and District Lions.
The event was held at Swaffham Assembly Rooms, and more than 80 people attended.
Eddie Godden was the compere for the evening, and entertainment included the Phoenix Singers with songs from Les Miserables, Ian Sandell with some amusing readings, and cabaret artists Class Act.
A short video was played that showed the work the Lions are carrying out in Haiti, including three tented villages housing more than 3,000 people, and a message from the Lions Haiti president.

An auction was also held with items supplied by Caithness Crystal.
A quiz night that was also organised by the Swaffham and District Lions raised just under �600.
