SWAFFHAM residents who want to help make childhood in Britain better are invited to attend a volunteering taster day at the Children's Society Market Place shop on Thursday, November 20.

The shop, which raises vital money to help children across the region, desperately needs volunteers to sort donations, serve customers, arrange window displays, price items and drive sales.

Shop manager Caroline Welham said: “One day I offered to help assemble some display racks in the Swaffham shop. I could see the volunteers were struggling and really wanted to help out. Now I'm the shop manager.”

Anyone aged 14 or over who is interested in finding out more is invited

The taster session is next Thursday between 10am and 3pm. Alternatively call Caroline on 01760 725116. Opportunities are flexible and can fit around family, work, studies and social commitments.
