Swaffham Home-Start celebrates decade of success
SWAFFHAM'S Home-Start scheme has held a family day to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
SWAFFHAM'S Home-Start scheme has held a family day to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
More than 15 families from the district joined in the fun, which was funded by Breckland Partnership.
It proved a real winner with the children, who enjoyed seeing the animals and having a fun day in the sunshine at Church Farm, Stow Bardolph.
The Home-Start team organised the birthday party with balloons, bubbles, party hats and lots of birthday cake.
Esther Wildsmith, the first co-ordinator for Home-Start Swaffham and District, was invited to cut the cake and say a few words. Esther is now one of the regional consultants for the Eastern Region.
During the last 10 years, the Home-Start Swaffham and District volunteer team have offered support, friendship and practical assistance to families with at least one child under five who are experiencing difficulties, such as isolation, loneliness or family management skills.
