A WACKY ride in a Roman chariot has helped a team of Norfolk builders raise nearly �26,000 for charity.
Staff at the Swaffham branch of Mansell donned Roman outfits and completed 110 miles on a specially converted rickshaw as part of a fundraising drive for children's charity EACH.
EACH provides care and support for terminally ill children and their families in their own homes as well as running hospices at Quidenham, Ipswich and Milton in Cambridge and is celebrating its 100th year in 2009.
Mansell's regional managing director Dean Burgess said: 'Here at the Swaffham branch we chose East Anglia's Children's Hospices as our nominated charity not only because it is a local charity but also because of the amazing work that is done there.
'We held all sorts of charitable events and raised �25,937.
'All the staff really pulled together and knowing that we were raising funds for such a worthwhile cause really kept us going.'
Other activities included a Yorkshire three-peak challenge, golf tournaments, netball and badminton matches, cake bakes, dress down days, car washing, raffles and a spring ball.
