Though the weather outside may be icy it seems nothing will deter Swaffham from putting on a fun-packed Christmas festival full of eastern promise early next month.

Though the weather outside may be icy it seems nothing will deter Swaffham from putting on a fun-packed Christmas festival full of eastern promise early next month.

The centre of Swaffham is set to come alive on the weekend of December 6 and 7 as the streets are filled with festive cheer and excitement for all ages.

Along with the more traditional Christmas fun a team of belly dancers are set to brave the chilly winter air for an outside performance on Saturday.

On the same day a barber shop quartet will perform around the town and Fakenham Town Band will lead the entertainment at the Buttercross.

Santa will put in an appearance at the Assembly Rooms between 10am and 2pm on both Saturday and Sunday where a craft fair will be held.

Sunday will see an Italian market set up and shoppers will be able to make their way round the stalls accompanied by music from one of the organs based at the Thursford Collection.

There will also be a funfair during the afternoon and evening.

The weekend of fun has been organised by Swaffham Business and Retail Forum and made possible thanks to sponsorship from Waitrose.
