A unique tour will provide an opportunity to find out more about the county's magnificent churches.

Landscape historian Ian Groves and church expert John Vigar will take visitors to five medieval churches and one ruined church between Swaffham and Downham Market on Friday, September 27.

Between them, the majestic buildings include features of interest including stained glass, medieval graffiti, wall paintings, medieval woodwork and two remarkable terracotta tombs.

During the tour, entitled 'On the Margins of Breckland', Mr Groves and Mr Vigar will explain how use of the churches has changed over time and the history of the surrounding area.

Those in attendance will need to arrive at Barton Bendish St Andrew church by 10.15am and the tour is expected to last until around 4pm. The churches are a few minutes' drive away from each other and car sharing is preferred to minimise traffic at each site.

Tickets priced at £35 can be purchased via the tour Eventbrite page, with £2.50 from each ticket donated to the churches.
