A musical group in Watton has raised money to help establish a stroke support group in the neighbouring town of Swaffham.

Barbara Spiegler from the Third Ages Ukulele Group donated £230 towards the Swaffham Stroke Support Group after their member, Brian Salmon, had a stroke.

They said that they would now continue donating to the stroke group, which was launched on April 9, through various fundraising activities.

The stroke group will provide information, advice and support to stroke survivors and their carers, along with offering a range of social activities.

It will meet on the third Monday of every month and run between 10.30am and 12.30pm at the Old Maltings on Cley Road. They hope to increase the meetings to fortnightly or weekly once it is more established.
