She was the first woman to head up the secret service but a Swaffham bookshop is making no secret of the fact that Dame Stella Rimington will soon be paying a visit to the town.
The former spy chief, who was director general of MI5 between 1992 and 1996, will be signing copies of her latest book Dead Line at Ceres Bookshop, London Street, on Saturday, November 29.
The book is the fifth by the retired spy turned author who now lives in Norfolk.
As well as her autobiography she has published three crime thrillers which all draw on her experience as a spy.
