A SHOOTING syndicate from Necton has reached its target of raising £1500 to help families of children with life threatening or life limiting illnesses.
The syndicate, run by Colin Howlett, has raised the money in the past year by holding shooting events in the area. The money, destined for East Anglia's Children's Hospices, was presented to Faye LeBon from the Heart of Norfolk District branch of the Oddfellows after a meal at the Miller's Restaurant in Necton.
Mrs LeBon said: “We are thrilled that the Necton Shooting Syndicate has asked us to be involved in the presentation of this money to East Anglia's Children's Hospices. The Oddfellows share the same charitable objectives as the syndicate and we congratulate them on what they have achieved, they truly are an inspiration”.
Mr Howlett paid tribute to the hard work of all members of the shooting syndicate with particular thanks to his grandson Scott Wilkin who is carrying on the family tradition of shooting into the next generation. He also encouraged other local groups to combine their pastimes with charitable fundraising.
