THE search is on for young people from across the Thetford, Watton and Swaffham areas to develop their talents in the 2008 season of drama activities at Westacre River Studios.

The vibrant arts venue just north of Swaffham is this week starting a new range of regular workshops for different age groups under the umbrella name of Adventures in Drama. Each will continue into February.

First Act workshops are for nine to 11-year-olds and run on Saturdays from 2pm-4pm (£22 for the series); Act Too caters for the 12 to 15 age group and meets on Saturdays from 10.30am to 12.30pm (£22 for the series); and Act Free is for the 16 to 21 age group (free for the series), meeting on Wednesdays from 7pm-pm from today.

Westacre stage performers Katherine Shaw and Camilla Falconbridge will lead the Adventures in Drama project.

Self-contained workshops will also be held during the February and May half-term holidays (£30 for each series) under the banner, Beginners, Please! Led by Camilla Falconbridge, these are aimed at the six to eight age group and will include drama games, creating and performing stories and short plays and building characters.
