Staff and pupils at Watton Westfield Infant and Nursery school are celebrating a successful Ofsted report.
For the fourth time in a row the school has achieved a “good” grading in every inspection category.
The inspector praised the consistency and quality of teaching throughout the school from Nursery to Year 2 which means that children are achieving above average standards by the end of Year 2. He was impressed by the way the praise and encouragement given to the children by staff fostered their self esteem and encouraged their love of learning. He also commented on the high level of care to the pupils, and the way all staff work well together.
In his letter to the pupils, the inspector highlighted their good behaviour and the calm, learning atmosphere in all the classes. He also mentioned their beautiful singing.
The inspector was also impressed with the range of after-school activities offered to the children. The opening of the Children's Centre on the school site is providing even more activities and services for young families including a Breakfast and After School club which opened this term.
Headteacher Sue Davis said she was delighted with the report.
