A community group in Swaffham has handed a cheque of one thousand pounds to a care centre after raising the money through a St George's Day Quiz.
The donation from the Swaffham Lions went to the Merle Boddy Centre, which plays a key role in supporting local people with dementia.
Georgie Bell, the manager of the centre, thanked the Lions on social media, writing: 'Our wonderful Lions came to the centre this morning with a gift of a £1000, I am never usually lost for words but these fantastic people done the impossible, we at The Merle Boddy are so grateful for your generosity, and the thoughtfulness towards us.
'We are so lucky to have such great support from the community, many, many thanks.'
The Lions are well known in Swaffham for their generosity and support of local causes and they previously donated £310 to the Merle Boddy Centre when they held a collection during their centenary celebrations at the end of 2017.
