A Norfolk woman gave a demonstration of the invaluable role of hearing dogs as part of a fundraising event with her new neighbours.
Veronica Colley, a resident at Knights Park in Watton, held a 'Paws for Coffee' morning at her home for the development's new community with her hearing dog, Logan. Barratt Homes donated £1,000 to the charity towards the breeding and training of new hearing dogs.
The event was to raise awareness for the charity and give residents a new perspective on the challenges deafness causes. Veronica and Logan did a demonstration to show guests how her dog helps in everyday life.
Ms Colley said: 'It's easy for people who don't know me to think I'm rude or anti-social as I often miss 'good mornings' or comments as I don't hear them. This event was a great way to introduce myself and Logan and raise awareness and funding for the Hearing Dogs charity.'
