The long-awaited return of a full time post office for a Norfolk town has finally arrived despite more than a week of delays.

Watton Edwards News, on the High Street, opened its brand new post office for the first time today despite officially opening on February 15.

The delay was caused by an issue with telecommunications.

Matt Hatfull, Post Office area network change manager, said: “We are delighted to have been able to restore a full-time Post Office service to Watton.”

The post office is open Monday through Saturday from 6am until 5.30pm and on Sunday between 6.30am until 1pm.

The new service replaces the former post office on the high street and means the temporary mobile post office which visited Watton Library on a Thursday will no longer be needed.

The new branch will offer services including posting letters and parcels and returning online shopping items alongside cash withdrawals and balance enquiries.
