There would also be an area of public open space that would be nearly 6,000 square metres. The design and access statement said this open space would act as a visual and social centre to the new housing development and the surrounding area, and that it would create 'a new heart for this part of the town.'
A new access road to the site from Saham Road is also part of the plans.
