WATTON will be holding a Music Madness event on Easter Sunday.

WATTON will be holding a Music Madness event on Easter Sunday.

For the third year running the day will be the focus of a major fundraising event in the town for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Music Madness is being held at the Queens Hall and will feature local bands including Skasouls, Harley Street, Mid Life Crisis and Mallard.

Once again the event is being organised by local mum Karen Cross, whose young son had to be airlifted to the hospital in 2005 for specialist intensive care treatment.

This year Karen was also invited to the hospital for a special open day to see how fundraising events like hers are helping.

'There were just over 50 people attending and we were told that between us we had raised over half a million pounds between us -amazing!

'We also did a tour of the hospital, saw the old parts first and then we were shown the refurbished wards. I was quite shocked how big the hospital was (we only saw intensive care) so it was brilliant to see how the money is being spent and the positive effect it has on the patients, their families and the staff,' said Karen

The event starts at 7.30 and also includes an outside food stall and bar. There will also be a raffle which has already attracted some great prizes.

Tickets are 10 and are available from Adcock's, Little Gary's Plaice and Rivaaj in Watton.
