MID-Norfolk MP Keith Simpson has pledged to meet the developers behind a controversial plan to build a 40-acre electricity substation.
On Friday Mr Simpson met Little Dunham villagers campaigning against a planning application to build the substation which would redirect energy harnessed from a proposed windfarm off the north Norfolk coast.
Mr Simpson said he was 'struck by the size' of the proposed development and would be seeking a meeting with developers Warwick Energy to hear its case before the matter is heard by a planning committee, at a date yet to be set.
He said: 'The proposed development is on a vast scale and right next to a small village and quite rightly the residents have raised a lot of questions. My natural inclination is to be against it, but I look forward to hearing the developers explain the reasons why they chose this particular site and how they will answer the questions put to them.'
