Being a police officer in Norfolk can often mean needing to follow several potential leads.
But officers in one town have found themselves chasing a rather different line of enquiry from their usual crime investigations after rescuing a missing dog.
Officers took the hound to Old Golfhouse Vets in Watton after finding the animal in the town on Thursday, February 15.
Afterwards they took to Twitter in a bid to locate the owner, saying: 'Is this your dog?
'Found earlier by Watton police, taken to The Old Golfhouse Vets in Watton as police follow leads to trace the owner!!!'
