Man admits £78,000 post office theft

A 60-year-old former post office manager yesterday admitted stealing more than £78,000 from Marham post office where he worked, when he appeared at Norwich Crown Court.

A 60-year-old former post office manager yesterday admitted stealing more than £78,000 from Marham post office where he worked, when he appeared at Norwich Crown Court.

Barrie Johnson admitted stealing over £78,082 between July 1, 2004 and May 6 this year. The court heard he had no previous offences.

He was given conditional bail and is due to sentenced on February 11 next year when a pre-sentence report will be available.
