A WATTON man who takes people on tours of the American airbases at Mildenhall and Lakenheath has been honoured for his work.Douglas Wickwar was invited to dinner by the British-American Community Relations Group on RAF Lakenheath and was called up to receive an award for exceptional volunteer work, having taken some 5000 people on coach tours of both bases over the last 20 years.
A WATTON man who takes people on tours of the American airbases at Mildenhall and Lakenheath has been honoured for his work.
Douglas Wickwar was invited to dinner by the British-American Community Relations Group on RAF Lakenheath and was called up to receive an award for exceptional volunteer work, having taken some 5000 people on coach tours of both bases over the last 20 years.
The award was for his work promoting better relations between the British and American communities in and around the bases.
He is pictured receiving the award from Colin Wills, chairman of the British-American Community Relations Group.
