The history and heritage of Wayland is being celebrated at a special event on Friday.

The Wayland Heritage Discovery Day will be at Queens Hall in Watton.

There will be a full day of exhibitions, demonstrations and films celebrating Wayland's unique cultural and landscape heritage.

Groups from across Wayland, including Ashill, Griston, Merton, Scoulton and Thompson, will have displays about their areas, and people will be able to find out more about a range of subjects including second world war photographs, local architecture, parish records and local crafts.

At 7pm there will also be an illustrated lecture by Dr John Davies, from Norfolk Museums Service, about Boudica's Norfolk.

The event is being organised by Wayland Heritage Officer Sue White through the Wayland Partnership's three year Capturing our Wayland Heritage project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

It is from 10.30am until 10pm on Friday and entry is free.
