It was the trip of a lifetime but one that was both mentally and physically demanding for a Norfolk duo who completed a gruelling four-day trek in Peru in order to raise thousands of pounds for charity.
Gary Bicker, of Swaffham, and Dave Huggins, of Newton Flotman, undertook the challenge in memory of Gary's brother, Steven, who died suddenly two years ago at the age of just 19.
And while they initially hoped to raise £5,500 for the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY), the fundraising has reached £8,100 and is still growing.
“CRY was an immense support to my family and I at a tremendously difficult time. By raising both money and awareness for the charity we hope to allow them to continue the amazing work they do,” said Mr Bicker.

“The support from family, friends and local business has been tremendous. The money we have raised will help CRY to continue to fund research and support families affected by Sudden Death Syndrome.”
The trek, which culminated at the ancient Inca city of Machu Picchu, saw a group of 22 travellers come together from across Britain to raise money for a variety of charities.
