FIREFIGHTERS from Watton turned into car washers for charity.

The crew got through 64 vehicles, including an articulated lorry, caravan and some expensive sports cars including a new M5 and Lotus Exige.

They raised more than 600 and also gave out fire safety advice and signed 17 people up for a home risk check.

Firefighter Barry Mallindine said: 'We would like to offer of sincere thanks to all those members of the community who turned up and helped us raise 639, which was a fantastic amount.

'Overall a great effort by all concerned for a very worthwhile charity.'

The money will go to the Firefighters Charity.
