Fete at Thorp House care home, near Watton, raises money for EACH
A vintage themed fete at a Mid-Norfolk care home raised £200 for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
Thorp House care home in Griston, near Watton, was transported back to the wartime era for the event.
Families from the area joined residents, their relatives and staff for an afternoon of old-fashioned fun and entertainment over the May Bank Holiday.
The garden was adorned with sandbags and RAF flags, staff dressed in 1940s costume, and there was even a model tank for children to admire.
Thorp House manager Kirsty Holden, activities coordinator Jade Smith and resident Gill Martinez handed over a cheque to EACH.
Mrs Holden said: “This was my first big event here at Thorp House and I am delighted how it went. It was great to support such a worthy cause. The total proceeds were split between EACH and our residents’ fund to provide extra activities.”
