A new alcohol and drug-free club with live music is being launched this weekend for late teens and 20-somethings.

Revival Town has been the brainchild of a group of people including Ashill youth worker Adam Jackson, who were concerned that the age group was being neglected and there was no alternative to the commercial club scene.

It will be held on the third Saturday of each month and starts this weekend at the Well, Swaffham Road, Ashill.

Adam said: “In cities where there are universities there is a lot to cater for this age group, but for people in their late teens and twenties living in more rural places, there is not a lot going on.

“We were also tired of the whole club culture that goes on in most commercial night clubs, the drink, drugs and 'meat market' sex scene.

He added: “So we have decided to get together our own club for people our age in this area.”

Entry will be free with exotic cocktails on offer and there will be live music.

Adam said: “The vision is really to try and make something that competes with the mainstream culture of clubbing and so we have been working like this is going to be the next big thing in Norfolk, and even though the whole event is staffed by volunteers, we've really got a professional feel about it all.”
