Officers are targeting 'inconsiderate parking' along the High Street after concerns raised from local people.

Watton Sgt Lance Ogbourne said: 'We are urging drivers to park legally, as irresponsible parking can be an obstruction to other road users as well as being a danger to pedestrians.'

Officers from Watton Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) and response have stepped up their patrols in the High Street and will be issuing fixed penalty notices to drivers who park illegally.

Another priority by police in recent weeks has been targeting speeding motorists in Watton and surrounding villages.

A three-day speed awareness campaign was launched and 40 drivers were caught.

Also anti-social behaviour has been looked at by police in Watton and there have been extra patrols.

Police have responded to a rise in incidents of anti-social behaviour along Bluebell Close. Since officers have dealt with the individuals involved, there have been no further reports of anti-social behaviour in the area during the last four weeks.

Watton Safer Neighbourhood Team has seized a large quantity of alcohol from under-age drinkers and parents have been informed about their child's drinking habits.
