A Norfolk man who downloaded pornographic images of children on to his work computer was last week warned he faced a lengthy prison sentence.
Devon Charles-Dunne, of Billy Emms Court, Mundford, admitted 22 counts of making indecent images of children.
The 55-year-old, who worked for Century Logistics in Thetford, was originally arrested at the company premises in Brunel Way on October 3 last year, following the discovery of pictures on his work computer.
Richard White, prosecuting, told Thetford Magistrates' Court the offences came to light when Charles-Dunne reported that his computer was working slowly and the machine was sent for a check-up.
“The engineer identified an image that was reported to the police and the equipment was seized and a large quantity of indecent images were found.”
Mr White said some of them were of a high level of seriousness. Some of them were also moving images and not just static images.
The court heard Charles-Dunne was rearrested at his home last Wednesday following a detailed examination of his work computer and a laptop was found.
Mr White said the seriousness of the case was beyond the magistrates' sentencing powers.
Lyndon Davies, in mitigation, said his client was dismissed by Century Logistics on the discovery that his computer had been used for non-work purposes. Charles-Dunne was a “family man” who lived with his wife of 14 years and 23-year-old stepson and the seized laptop had been used for innocent purposes.
Magistrates refused Charles-Dunne bail and adjourned the case for sentencing at Norwich Crown Court on a date to be fixed.
