A community spirit of fun and fundraising was on show as Necton's village fete raised more than �2,000 for local causes.
The event also saw the official opening of a new children's playground, built with the aid of a National Lottery Grant for the children of the village, near Swaffham.
Jill Scott, deputy lieutenant of Norfolk, was assisted by the Rev Stephen Thorp as she opened the fete and cut the ribbon for the new play area.
Mrs Scott said she enjoyed seeing the community spirit in Necton with the parish church and community groups working together to put on the afternoon celebration.
The money raised on the day will be divided equally between All Saints parish church and Necton Rural Community Centre (NRCC).
All Saints was visibly undergoing major repairs during the fete, and the village also celebrated 65 years since its community hall had been first built.
Throughout the afternoon, music from The Black Bowler Hat Band entertained the visitors who browsed stalls and the children who made full use of the new playground. There was also a cake-decorating demonstration by staff from The Windmill Pub in Necton.
