Carbrooke fete to go ahead after village groups pull together
Fun and games will be had by all at Carbrooke fete this weekend despite fears it would not go ahead after members of the organising committee stepped down six weeks ago.
The annual event will take place on Saturday from 1pm on the Millenium Green.
Villagers rallied together to allow the fete to continue, which will include vintage cars, tractor displays, craft stalls, farm machinery, local bands, a storyteller, a fire juggling circus group and Watton fire service.
Carbrooke Parish Council chairman, Debbie Muller, said: 'There has been lots of frantic last minute activity. We have been overwhelmed by the support with many people offering help and donations – especially via the event Facebook page which has proved invaluable. It really shows what can be achieved if groups pull together.'
Organisations which have worked together are the Millennium Green Committee, the village hall, the primary school, the playgroup, the church and the parish council.
