A Norfolk farmer and former journalist has been appointed as the new chairman of rural
affordable housing provider Hastoe
Group.
Ed Buscall, of Carbrooke Hall, near Watton, runs an arable farming and property business and is also an editorial adviser for the BBC
Trust.
Until May of this year, he was Norfolk chairman of the CLA (Country Land and Business Association), and has previously worked for the BBC World Service as well as reporting for national newspapers.
He succeeds Margaret Clark as the chairman of Hastoe, which
owns and manages more than
7,000 homes in more than 60 local authorities.
He said: 'The vibrancy and diversity of village life is being challenged as never before by rising house prices and the lack of alternative choices available to local people.
'I am looking forward to working with colleagues across Hastoe to find solutions to these challenges.'
Mr Buscall also serves on Carbrooke Parish Council as the vice-chairman.
