Overnight closures on A47 at Swaffham for three weeks for road resurfacing

A section of one of Norfolk’s main road routes is to be closed overnight for three weeks so that the road can be resurfaced.

New road studs will also be laid along the stretch of the A47 at Swaffham, between Castle Acre Road and Norwich Road, along with road lines being repainted.

Highways England, which looks after Britain’s motorways and A-roads, said the work will start on Friday, January 19 and take around three weeks to finish.

“We will be resurfacing, relining and laying new road studs,” a Highways England spokesman said.

“The A47 will be closed between 8pm and 6am on weeknights.

“A clearly signed diversion will be in place.”

There are also overnight closures on the A11 between Wymondham and Attleborough around the same time so new road signs can be installed.
