These are the huge beams which will close the A11 this weekend when they are hoisted into place to create a new bridge as part of a £200m revamp scheme.
The road will be shut between the Thickthorn roundabout and Wymondham while a 750-tonne capacity crane lifts three of the beams, which measure 38 metres, into place.
The other three beams – which will form part of a new bridge over the A11 connecting Cantley Lane South with Norwich Road in Hethersett – will be lifted into place on Friday, before the road has to shut for the other half to be moved.
The beams, which weigh 100 tonnes each, have been made in Ireland and transported to Norfolk via Liverpool, ready to be put into place as part of National Highways' revamp of the Thickthorn junction.
Alistair Stout, project director for National Highways, said: "Compared to traditional construction methods, this innovative approach allows more of the bridge to be manufactured off-site, which means we can build more quickly and efficiently, with less overall disruption to motorists, while also reducing future maintenance requirements.
"We have been planning this for many months, doing major earthworks and strengthening the foundations that will support the new bridge.
"While there will be some disruption this weekend, we have minimised the closures of the A11 as much as we possibly can to ensure the safety of the workforce and motorists.
"We will reopen the road as soon as possible once the work is complete over the weekend."
The work will see the A11 shut between the A47 Thickthorn junction and Wymondham from 8pm on Friday, September 18, until 6am on Monday, September 21, with diversions in place.
Non-HGV northbound traffic will be diverted from the A11 at Thetford via the A1066 to Diss, then northbound on the A140 to rejoin the A47 at Norwich.
Southbound non-HGV traffic will exit at the A140, follow the route toward Diss, exit Needham Market, then west on the A1066 to Thetford and rejoin the A11.
On Friday night only, the northbound diversion route for lorries will have to exit the A14 at Bury St Edmunds, head east towards Diss on the A143 and then head to Norwich via the A140, before joining the A47 at the southern bypass.
On Saturday and Sunday lorries heading north will be diverted on to the A14 at Newmarket junction 37 towards Stowmarket, exit the A14 at junction 51 and join the A140 toward Norwich, before rejoining the A47 at the Norwich.
Southbound lorries will exit at the A140 and travel towards Stowmarket, exit at Needham Market and head west to Newmarket on the A14, before rejoining the A11 at Newmarket.
