Drivers are facing a 38-mile diversion for works on a major road costing £205,000.
The project, part of Norfolk County Council’s annual structural maintenance programme, will affect the stretch of the A1065 in Castle Acre between Newton Road and Castle Acre Road.
A signed diversion will direct traffic west along the A47, north on the A10, north on the A149, east on the B1145 and south on the A1065, with the reverse route in place for northbound journeys.
Closures will be in place from 8pm to 6am each night from Wednesday, September 23, while the existing carriageway surface is removed and replaced.
The work is scheduled to take five nights, weather permitting.
Additional local diversions will be signposted for Newton Road and Castle Acre Road.
Access to properties within the works area will be maintained where possible, with site staff on hand to assist drivers.
Emergency services will retain access throughout the works and will be notified of closure arrangements in advance.
A spokesman for the council said: "The county council thanks people for their patience while this carriageway maintenance work is carried out."
