Plans to redevelop a former Wilko in Norwich have been met with objections.

Under proposals submitted by ALB Group, the former Wilko and Poundland store in St Stephens Street will be converted into 70 one-bedroom flats.

The developer has submitted details of the scheme to Norwich City Council, but concerns have been raised about the impact the development may have on the already busy city centre roads.

A new housing development is to be built next to a pub.

The scheme will provide 12 new homes and a self-build plot along with a new car park and land for the Wheel of Fortune pub in Alpington - a village six miles south of Norwich.

Plans for the development, submitted by FW Properties to South Norfolk Council last year, have now been given the green light.

Another solar farm is set to be built in Norfolk's countryside, despite several major renewable projects already planned for the nearby area.

The project on 236 acres of land between Beeston and Gressenhall, near Dereham, has been backed by councillors.

However, questions surrounding what benefit it will serve the public were raised during a Breckland District Council planning meeting.

A group of abandoned barns on a village farm are set to be converted into a new home.

The plans put forward by Andrew Buck for Vine Park Farm in Great Snoring have been given the go-ahead.

The buildings near Fakenham had previously served as cart sheds and storage buildings, but are no longer in use.

A kitchen, dining room, living room, study, utility room and three bedrooms have all been earmarked for the property.

A vacant Grade II-listed former bank in the heart of a Norfolk town could be transformed into two shops and four flats under newly submitted plans.

Divine Lettings Ltd has applied to North Norfolk District Council to convert the former Lloyds Bank at 18-19 Market Place in North Walsham.

The proposals would create two shops on the ground floor and basement, alongside three new one-bedroom flats on the first and second floors.
