Tributes have been paid to a former Norfolk fire chief who has died at the age of 91.
Bruce Hogg, who was made an OBE, was the former chief fire officer at Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service.
In a tribute, Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service said: "We are greatly saddened by the news that our former chief fire officer (CFO), Bruce Hogg OBE OStJ QFSM, has died at the age of 91.
"Bruce joined us as deputy chief fire officer in 1974. In 1979, Bruce was appointed as CFO for Norfolk, a role he served with distinction for 10 years before his retirement from the service in 1989.
"Remarkably, from 1984 onwards, he served as head of our service alongside his role as St John Ambulance County Commissioner. Bruce was also instrumental in the formation of the firefighting at sea team."
Tributes to Mr Hogg poured in from former colleagues and members of the public following the announcement of his death on July 28.
Former colleague Linda Davis said: "RIP Bruce. He welcomed me as an 18-year-old joining control, apparently thinking I wouldn’t stay.
"Eighteen months later, he promoted me, an unusual move since I had not yet served two years. 'I think you can do it,' he said. 'Don't let me down.' The last time I saw him, as head of department and 37 years of service, he confirmed that I had not let him down."

Diane Schultz added: "What a contribution he made to our society, being involved with so many different organisations for the benefit of others.
"Sleep peacefully, Bruce."
Mr Hogg's funeral service will be held at All Saints’ Church in Mundesley on Tuesday at 1pm followed by a private cremation.
