The former academic director of an internationally renowned French cookery school has opened a new teaching establishment in Norfolk. 

Loïc Malfait and his wife Yee moved to Norfolk two years ago and have now launched Satiate Artisan at their home in Beeston-next-Mileham near Dereham.

The new teaching kitchen is designed to "show ordinary people how to produce simple dishes" with "beautiful ingredients prepared simply", offering private tasting demonstrations and 'Cooking with the Chef' experiences.

After honing his professional culinary skills in Paris, Loïc moved to London in the 1980s and worked for Richard Branson at The Roof Gardens Club and the prestigious Windows restaurant at the Hilton International Park Lane as a pastry chef.

Teaching haute cuisine cooking and patisserie for 17 years, Mr Malfait soon became the academic director of a world-famous French cookery school for 14 years and was elected vice president of the Association Culinaire Française. 

Satiate Artisan's workshops can last between three hours and two days and booking enquiries can be made via its website.
