A gym with a "vibrant community" has announced its imminent closure ahead of the winter season due to "regrettable" circumstances.

Full Fitness Gym, in Watton, said on social media yesterday morning that the decision was made with a "heavy heart".

It said: "Regrettably, this closure has been forced upon us due to the landlord choosing not to renew our lease and has shown little willingness to negotiate reasonable rental terms or extensions.

"We could continue for a few months but it doesn't make sense to be open over Christmas."

Full Fitness relocated to its current premises in Norwich Road in April 2019, benefitting from improved facilities, more space and a new climbing wall.

The 24/7 gym includes a purpose-built climbing wall as well as dedicated spaces for bodybuilders and aerobic training, a studio offering group classes and a boxing zone.

"We had received numerous offers from potential successors during the summer, yet the landlord declined to engage in constructive conversations with us," the gym continued.

"It is disheartening to acknowledge that in some cases, financial gain seems to outweigh the value of a thriving and cherished community hub."

Gym-goers are being offered no fees in November if they opt to join nearby NR Health and Fitness following Full Fitness' closure.

It added: "We deeply appreciate the trust and support you, our loyal clients and dedicated staff, have shown us throughout the years.

"We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making this journey special and for being a part of this vibrant community."
