A Norfolk pub has been creating a buzz with its new street food hut, with dishes utilising local produce.

The Rose and Crown in Harpley, near Great Massingham, held a soft launch for the hut last week and, after rave reviews, it will officially open this weekend.

It will be open every Friday and Saturday from 5pm until 9pm and chef Jake Smith will be serving street food dishes to eat-in or takeaway, with no need to pre-order.

Mr Smith said: "I have always had a love for street food, particularly ‘dirty food’ you can enjoy with a pint.

"We are going to be serving lots of cool new dishes, using the amazing local ingredients we have in Norfolk."

This week, the menu will include a double cheeseburger and fries, beef rendang curry and crispy duck bao buns.

Alice Darlow, Rose and Crown operator, said: "With the pub getting busier and busier, we realised we were turning away customers because we were fully booked, so we wanted to offer something else to ensure everyone can enjoy our amazing food."

The Rose and Crown was taken on by Ms Darlow in 2018 and it has won awards from CAMRA (The Campaign for Real Ale).
