Do you believe you’ve had an encounter with a ghost? Or heard of someone’s meeting with a spirit? Well, a Norfolk author wants you to get in contact.

Dr Paul Lee, from King’s Lynn, is looking for people west of Dereham to share their paranormal tales as he embarks on writing the second edition of his book, due for release in September or October.

Mr Lee, who published The Ghosts of King's Lynn and West Norfolk in 2021, is now looking to make the definitive collection of ghost stories - which has grown some 200 pages since his first book was released.

The 51-year-old, who was born on Halloween, said the growth of stories has come with the ease from Covid restrictions.

“The first edition had between 100-150 stories, now looking at something between 250 to 300 when I get round to publishing,” he said.

“These new ones I had no idea about because when I was researching we still had Covid guidelines, which made it difficult. But this time I’ve managed to speak to more witnesses and look at more archives.”

Mr Lee, who has a doctorate from the University of York in nuclear physics, said he had been interested in ghost stories from a young age, despite his parents not believing in them.

He said he would be given books on the subject for birthdays - but moving to King’s Lynn around five years ago really sparked his interest.

He said: “It just snowballed, the town is very old and has a fantastic library and librarian, one who arrives with volumes of archives in hand to help me with sourcing my next tale from old newspapers.”

Mr Lee is now appealing for people to come forward and share their stories with him as he looks to add to the second edition. He is also advising people to hold off buying a copy until the second edition is ready.
