Works to resurface a busy Norfolk main road are set to start this week.

Road closures will be necessary along the A1075 Thetford Road in Griston to allow crews to surface dress a section of the tarmac.

Line painting will be carried out and cats' eyes renewed as part of the £42,000 works.

The work, which is weather dependant, will be carried out in phases with any road closures only in place for a number of hours at a time on the following dates:

  • May 25 (road stud removal) works start at 7pm
  • June 7 (surface dressing) 9am to 4pm

A fully signed diversion route will be in operation for the duration of the works and access to properties will be maintained at all times.

Council works will see 280 miles of Norfolk’s roads receive a new seal to extend the life of the road which will help prevent water penetration and stop potholes from appearing.
