Last Christmas, Kirsty Brown put a wish on her tree few that she would have a baby.
This year, her dream came true and she and husband Harry are preparing to spend their first Christmas with baby son Robin.
The couple, who live in Swaffham, have been together since they were teenagers and had always wanted a family.
“We got married in the Spring of 2018 and started trying for a baby later that year,” said adult social care worker Kirsty, 28.
“After just a few months I knew that something wasn’t right. My cycles weren’t regular and I was finding it difficult to accurately track my fertile windows."
The couple were referred to the Bourn Hall fertility clinic, in Norwich, by their GP.
Tests revealed Kirsty wasn’t ovulating and that Harry had low-quality sperm.”
“Being told it was highly unlikely we would fall pregnant naturally hit us like a ton of bricks,” said Kirsty.
The couple's journey was put on hold for six months through lockdown. Kirsty then had two rounds of ovulation induction treatment but did not fall pregnant.
“Our next option was IVF, something which we didn’t take lightly and after moving in to our new home, decided it was time for us to accept this help to be able to achieve our dream of having a family,” she said.
The couple had NHS-funded IVF treatment at Bourn Hall on November 30, 2021.
"I remember going to a Christmas event in Norfolk and writing a wish on a tree for us to get our miracle baby,” said Kirsty. “On December 10 we saw those two lines on the test for the first time."
Robin was born in August. Now Kirsty and insurance claims adviser Harry, 30, are preparing to spend their first Christmas as a family.
“My wish this year is that our story will give others hope that they will get their little miracle,” she said.
"We are grateful beyond words to Bourn Hall for helping us to parenthood.”

"Many people can be helped to get pregnant naturally by making lifestyle changes and taking medication with only a small number needing IVF."
