THE civic leader of Watton has added to her charity fundraising following her latest venture, which was a supper dance at the town's Queen's Hall.
Around 130 people attended the event on February 5 and the guests were entertained by the popular band, Heaving Cleavages.
The event, which also included a raffle, raised more than �500 and delighted Margaret Holmes who nominated Wayland Luncheon Club and the town's Thursday Club, for people with disabilities, as the charities that she wanted to support during her mayoral year of office.
Ms Holmes said everyone really enjoyed the evening, even though she had to miss out on the dancing because an operation on her foot meant that she was in a wheelchair.
Before Christmas Ms Holmes staged a horse racing and beetle drive evening at Wayland Hall raising �350 for her charity fund.
Mrs Holmes said that she hopes that by the end of her civic year in May she will have raised at least �1500 with the cash being divided between the two charities.
She is already planning another event which is to be a social evening in April but the details have still to be finalised.
