The Alzheimer's Society has opened an office in the Riversdale Centre in the town to provide information and support to people with dementia and their carers or anyone else affected by the issues raised through dementia.
The office will cover the Thetford, Diss, south Norfolk and Breckland area.
It will be staffed by three workers, Jo Mountjoy-Dixon, support manager, Julie Williams, support worker, and Lucy Clarke, administrator.
It is open four days per week.
Primarily funded by NHS Norfolk and Norfolk County Council, it also received funding from Robert Kybird from his time as mayor.
