‘We’ll leave it to him to explain’: Police impound uninsured driver’s mum’s car

A driver will be having an awkward conversation with his mother after police seized his car.
Officers from Breckland Police stopped a Kia Picanto in Norwich Road, Watton.
The 21-year-old told police he was going to pick his own car up and he knew that he had no insurance.

The vehicle was insured but only for his mother to drive.
PC Adam Wengrow said: "He thought it would be okay to go and pick his car up knowing he had no insurance.
"He was with his girlfriend and has now been sent on his way to walk home and we'll leave it to him to explain to his mum."
A fine of £150 will have to be paid to retrieve the car and £10 added for every day that it is stored at the pound.
