Further reports are being prepared ahead of an inquest into the death of an undertaker who died in a "tragic accident" at a Norfolk funeral parlour.

Sally Blundell was crushed to death at the East of England Co-op funeral branch in Market Place Swaffham on December 1.

An inquest into the 58-year-old's death, described by the organisation as a "tragic accident", was opened on January 4, a month after the incident.

During a preliminary hearing held on Friday, Norfolk's senior coroner Jacqueline Lake said the court was still awaiting further reports and witness statements before a full inquest could be held.

She adjourned the case for a further review on August 9.

Mrs Blundell was born in Norwich and lived in The Street in Swaffham.

During the opening of her inquest in January, the provisional medical cause of her death was given as "contusion and compression of the chest by an external object."

Following her death, colleagues at the company said she would be "truly missed".

Mrs Blundell worked in a variety of roles for the company for more than eight years, with the branch closing for several days after her death.
