The bid by a group of volunteers to open a permanent museum in Watton has said it has “taken longer” than expected but progress is being made, its chairman has said.

Swaffham’s war memorial is getting spruced up in time for the town’s centenary celebrations next year to mark the end of the First World War.

Visitors to an ancient Norfolk landmark will be given access to part of the site which has never been opened to the public.


They are a common sight above the skies of Norfolk and Suffolk and it is now 25 years since the first F-15 Strike Eagle touched down at RAF Lakenheath.


A centuries-old ceremony is being held tomorrow on Saturday to bless the trees in a community orchard.
