Thetford Athletics Club out in force at Suffolk Winter Cross Country meeting in Bury-st-Edmunds

There was a good turn out of Thetford runners for the third race in the Suffolk Winter Cross-Country League at Nowton Park in Bury St Edmunds. This league is a series of five races, all of approximately five miles and run on multi terrain trail and fields.

Four Thetford AC athletes took part in the Reedham 10mile road race on Sunday. All put in excellent performances and achieved personal bests for the distance.

Senior men: 27 Joe Kirton (13th in age group) 1-03:08

Senior women: 192 Stacey Owen (12th in age group) 1-17:46, 202 Sam Wing (14th in age group) 1-18:13

V45: 216 Cliff Lear (32nd in age group) 1-19:43

As a result of his race at the recent Norfolk Cross Country Championships at Barnham Common, Joe Kirton (U20 men) has been selected to represent Norfolk in the Inter Counties at Birmingham on March 10.
