Swaffham had an afternoon to forget in Division Two of the Norfolk Alliance when they were well beaten at home by relegation threatened opposition.

After restricting visitors Bradenham to 148-9 in a 35 over per side game they were skittled out for just 82 to lose by 66 runs.

Following heavy overnight rain Swaffham skipper Mark Eagle put the visitors into bat after winning the toss and they found it hard going as Matthew Brockman-Smith returned the outstanding figures of 6-0-14-5.

But with Will Dewing making 44 Bradenham got up to a respectable total - and as it turned out it proved to be more than enough to secure the win. Swaffham laboured through 34 overs for their disappointing total, with Eagle’s 26 the top score, and Alex Bates the most successful bowler with 4-16.

Swaffham will be hoping for something better when they visit Ashmanhaugh and Barton Wanderers on Saturday (1pm).
