On a very blustery but thankfully dry morning, the ladies of Richmond Park Golf Club took to the course with their guests for the annual Invitation Day.

The event was played in the 4 Ball Better Ball format and everyone enjoyed themselves despite the difficult conditions and the very punishing rough.

A ‘Halfway House’ together with some reviving Pimms was enjoyed by all. Afterwards the ladies changed into their summer finery and enjoyed a buffet lunch followed by the prize giving, the prizes being presented by Elaine Aberdeen.

The winners of the event were Chris Bailey and Val Griffith from Swaffham Golf Club, with a magnificent score of 41 points. Second were Elaine Aberdeen and Lesley Bingle from Swaffham with 36 points and in third place were Jeanette Fowler and Jill Martin from Whitehill, who also took the guest nearest the pin prize, with 34 points.
