Carl Breeze’s homecoming didn’t produce the victories he was hoping for, but the local racer used his race craft to leave Snetterton in second place in the Ginetta SuperCup GT4 title race.

“We just haven’t had the pace this weekend,” admitted the King’s Lynn racer, who could only qualify the Bluechip-supported car in fifth place.

A demon start saw him into fourth and then a brave and determined inside pass on David Pittard, who edged him to the limits of the track, at Riches sealed a podium place.

Another great start to race two saw Breeze steal second place from Tom Oliphant, but, as in the first race, Charlie Robertson was an emphatic winner.

Breeze tried hard to dislodge Oliphant from the lead of race three, but was forced into a spin which put him at the rear of the field, heralding a brilliant recovery to fourth, while a late spin for Robertson when trying to grab victory, saw him finish ninth.

Dereham youngest Dan Zelos was a two-time Ginetta Junior podium visitor, taking third place in both events.

The first event was truncated, with half the race suspended behind a safety car, but not before the local racer had displaced Ryan Hadfield from the podium. The second race was undisturbed and Zelos was in the mix for the win, but was unable to find a way past Lando Norris and James Kellett in a very closely-fought event.

Suffolk driver Josh Webster raced to a pair of convincing Porsche Carrera Cup victories and increased his lead over rival and second-placed finisher Michael Meadows to 14 points.

Josh Cook also recorded a pair of victories in the Renault Clio Cup, but his were hard-fought affairs.

Max Marshall claimed his first Formula Ford GB victory after Ashley Sutton and Jayde Kruger had clashed in the opening event, but in the remaining two races Sutton was untouchable.
